5. William Lummis was
born on 14 Jul 1842. He died on 5 Jul 1934 in Mtl., PQ. He was christened.
He was buried in Mount Royal Cem.. Worked at Place Viger Station in Montreal
as an auditor.
Served as a Captain with the 3rd Battalion, Victoria Rifles, during the Fenian
Raids in 1866 and saw duty at Hemmingford and Huntington in Quebec.--(Public

He prepared some of the records of the garrison on St. Helen`s Island. They were
donated to The Chateau de Ramsay in Montreal by William W, his grandson, who
told me they are written in a "beautiful script".
The picture I have of him in the old car shows him with his two old aunts-who
never married -Aunt Rhoda and Aunt Adelaide. Laura Gardiner remembers him as
a kind man who looked after his aunts. Howard Hackwell remembers them as two
that ruled the household.
He was married to Jerimina McRobie.
Jerimina McRobie was born in 1847 in , Scotland. She died on 14
Sep 1885 in Mtl., PQ. She was christened. She was buried in Mt Royal Cem, Mtl.,
PQ. William Lummis and Jerimina McRobie had the following children:
