Have You Been Bitten by the Genealogy Bug?
The Family History Committee of The Kings Historical Society is located in the lower level of
the Old Kings Courthouse Museum. There is a user fee of $3.00 per day for non-members.
Volunteer assistance is available on an ad-hoc basis, however, appointments can be made by
phoning 902-678-6237. The Family History Committee meets on the second Thursday of each
month at 7:30 p.m. at the Museum.
The archives include the following items:
- Large collection of published works on various families and related subjects.
- Nearly 400 file folders on families.
- Many family binders.
- Over 180 rolls of microfilm containing: births, marriages, deaths, census
records, township books, and other statistics relating to Kings County and
Nova Scotia.
- All the gravestone inscriptions for the 100 cemeteries in Kings County in
four binders including a master index.
- Many indexes and information assembled by members of the Family
History Committee to help you find your family roots.
