Newsletter History and Contents

The BNS Newsletter is published once every season of the year at approximately the equinoxes and solstices. It began publication in the Autumn of 1974 and by 2007 is in its 34nd year. All members receive a copy of the Newsletter and some are also distributed to other select institutions. There is a complete set of BNS Newsletters housed in the Wolfville branch of the Annapolis Valley Regional Library. (Front Street Wolfville, NS)
At present the Newsletter format is a booklet 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches with about 40 pages. In addition to text there are many line and half-tone drawings.

An electronic index of the content of all the past newsletters is available in two forms. A updated copies are on this server

  Readable by most Database and Spreadsheet programs.
• Download the Newsletters Index (rtf format 210 kbytes)
  Readable and searchable by most wordprocessors (the file was created with Windows XP Wordpad.)
  The tables of data use tabs and in order to line all the columns up neatly your page must be properly set. Use a page setup of legal size (8-1/2 x 14 inch) paper in landscape orientation. It helps to set the text size to 8 point Courier.

If you need a computer program to read, modify and print the Index, there are database shareware programs available at such sites as TuCows, ZDNet or Jumbo
