ABOUT OUR SCHOOL
St
Mary's
is a small rural school located near the heart of the Annapolis Valley.
There are approximately 243 students most of whom are bussed and can
come
from as far away as 40km. Aylesford is a small village with pride as
its
logo says at the entrance of the village. It can boast many amenities
such
as Nova Scotia's only zoo, Oaklawn Farm home
of the world's heaviest
lion
according to the Guiness Book of Records. It has one of the valleys
finest
ballfields complete with lights a rarity in a village. It may even be
able
to stake claim to being the oldest village in the valley at one time
spanning
the distance from Horton to Wilmot. If you check the pages on the
communities
that feed our school you can also learn a lot about the history and
early
families of the area.
